Face Primers

Hey girls,

So lately ive had a thing about looking for the perfect face primer that actually does what its supposed to do but the only catch was that i wanted something in a decent price range. I didnt wanna spend alot of money on a primer, but i didnt want something that actually did something and i was determined to find something in Target one day so i spent quite a while in the makeup section.

I splurged a while ago on the ModelCo Face Base Primer which set me back about 50 something dollars and it is a good product but just not for me. It is a gel like formula that when applied feels awesome because its so smooth and luxurious and super moisturising, but if your like me and have stupid combination skin from super dry to super oily, this is not for you. It sits really nicely on my super dry bits but on my super oily bits it just slips right off, so it just doesnt work for me, and im a little upset about it and this is what triggered my search for a cheaper alternative. So id recommend this product for someone with dry skin, it would work like an absolute dream and would be worth every cent for you, so if you happen to find yourself in a David Jones in the next few days, its worth trying out.

(Ive actually battered this when ive thrown it around and it eventually found its way into my makeup kit so it can be used on clients with drier skin)

So back to my trip to Target i picked up the Rimmel London Fix and Perfect Primer which i absolutely love and i think i found that cheaper option primer that actually works. I love it, it sits well on both my oily and dry patches of skin on my face  and it doesnt feel oily, it feels like an oil free moisturiser and it smells like watermelon which is cute and it has an orange tint, but it doesnt show up on your skin when its applied. It does what its meant to and keeps my makeup in place all day and ive used about half the bottle and will definately be purchasing another bottle of it.It controls the oiliness of my skin and it keeps my dry patches moisturised which means my makeup never goes flaky or cakey which is awesomeeee.. It was around the $13 mark in Target, but dont quote me on that but im definately sure thats its under $15 which equals a complete bargain !

What face primers are you guys using ? Let me know cause maybe theres something better than this cause im almost due to buy another bottle...

Laguna with a touch of orgasm ? Yes please :)

Hey guys,

As soon  as i got to NYC i ran to the information desk in our hotel and asked where is my closest Sephora and i need a cab there asap !

Sephora is like makeup heaven and being an aussie and seeing all these fab products for less than half price compared to what we pay here, led me to go absolutely insane and spend hours in Sephora, stocking up on stuff that i didnt even need.. However when i walked in i just found myself being drawn to the NARS section of the store.

And then i saw these two little babies.. Laguna and Orgasm and its like i couldnt put them in my basket fast enough ! These are hands down the best purchases i made and its so true that they suit any skin tone and the colours are just so amazing, that ive used them everyday since i got them, so lucky i bought doubles !

Laguna is a gorgeous shade of medium brown and unlike most bronzers, it has just a speckle of shimmer, not huge chunks of shimmer which gives your face a really nice glow instead if a party sparkle. I love it because it compliments my skin really well, cause i usually have the problems of bronzers looking a little too orange on my skin, even though its completely brown when i swatch it on my hand, so i dunno whats going on there ! Laguna works well as an all-over sunkissed look or just as a bronzer and can also be used just to contour your face because of the medium brown colour and fine shimmers throughout the product. I know you should use a brown matte powder to contour but because the shimmers are so fine, it works non so many different levels with this bronzer.

Orgasm gives you that lovely flustered pink cheeks look with really fine golden shimmers and i just love it. I really cant explain it anymore beyond the word of love ! Its a medium toned frosted pink and it blends so well into your skin and makes blush application almost effortless. This blush is so versatile and i use it daily because its quite a mellow colour compared to alot of the other blushes i own, which are quite bright and need time to blend them out so the lines arent so harsh, but with nars blushers and orgasm particularly, i can quickly just smoosh my brush into some product and swipe it across my cheeks and run out the door and i know that in the back off my mind, i dont need to worry about blending and harsh lines because of the ultra smooth formula and the light pinkish colour where flaws in application wont show up.

I think from memory, these were $35 each at Sephora in NYC, please correct me if im wrong and as always, id love to hear your thoughts xxx

Is there anything in particular you guys want reviewd or researched or anything along those lines ?

Until next time,

The absolute best face powder !

Hey guys,

The best face powder i have ever tried in my whole entire life is Napoleon Set Pasarella Powder Foundation.. Once this goes on, it does not come off.. It doesnt slip and slide off and my face takes like three times as long to become oily throughout the day !

I took this on my trip to the USA and used it every day and not once did it make my skin feel heavy and i danced it away in Vegas and my face was still matte by the end, so going by that, im going to call it my miracle powder. The colour range is so good and im sure that theres a colour for every skin tone.

I love this powder so much that i bought it in a darker shade for when i get a bit of a sun tan and i came home with about 3 more the other day because i have to stock up cause it sometimes gets a bit difficult to find my colour because i am smack bam in the middle, a number 3 ! Its such a smooth product to apply and it is an absolute pleasure to brush over my face after my foundation is on and it blends like a dream..

You guys have no idea how obsessed i really am.. I have never found anything that compares to this powder. If your like me, and like a little extra coverage from time to time, theres no need for a heavier foundation, you can just buff a little bit extra of this powder on and the coverage that it offers is just crazy. And the best part is, that it never gets cakey !

You can get these from Target for $45, and please let me know if any of you guys have tried these !

Bacon Perfume ?!!

Hey all,

A perfume that smells like bacon ? Yep for just $36, you can get yourself your very own perfume that has a bacon scent while stocks last. I dont know how i feel about this but at the same time i love bacon but spraying the scent on my body just seems a little whacky. But on the other hand, im really curious and have decided that i must order myself a bottle. Or maybe its just because i love bacon and the idea of bacon itself makes my mouth water lol so maybe, the perfume will smell as delish as the actual thing.

The perfume is called Bacon by Farginnay and the reviews on the website mostly say that people are surprised about the beautiful scent and that its a soft yummy scent.

The website, http://www.fargginay.com/ states that it all began in, "The year was 1920 and quite by accident John Fargginay, a Parisian butcher discovered the ability to dramatically elevate his customers' mood with a secret recipe blending 11 popular pure essential oils with the essence of...bacon."

The fragrance is available in Bacon Classic and Bacon Gold and both are unisex perfumes. Absolute exciting craziness in my opinion. Each scent has 11 essential oils and all batches are handmade and ingredients are not available every season so you better hope that you dont miss out on the batch.

The product description of Bacon classic is as follows, "bacōn Classic is designed for men and women.  A common question, does this fragrance really smell like bacon?  The answer is yes & no.  Our Classic formula is a sophisticated spicy maple fragrance with just a hint of bacon and the fun… is in finding it.  This artisanal Classic formula is lovingly crafted with the pure essential oil blend of bergamot, orange, lime, grapefruit, black pepper, cedar wood, vetiver, guaiacwood and two pinches of Bacon salty goodness.  What on earth could you be waiting for?  Available while supplies last."

And bacon gold, "bacōn Gold is designed for women & men.  A common question, does this fragrance really smell like bacon?  The answer is yes & no.  Our Gold formula offers a memorable sizzling citrus aroma with an ever so slight hint of bacon and the fun… is in finding it.  This artisanal Gold formula is lovingly crafted with a pure essential oil blend of mandarin, bergamot, grapefruit, lemon, nutmeg, pimento berry, black pepper & a touch of sweet, a smidgen of savory, and one pinch of Bacon salty goodness.  What are you waiting for?  Available while supplies last"

What do you guys reckon ? Would you happily spritz your body with bacon ?

Daily Haircare Routine

Hey everyone,

I am one of those people that breaks the two most important rules when it comes to haircare:

  1. I wash my hair daily
  2. I brush my hair in the shower and after my shower, with a normal hair brush
I wash my hair daily because i feel dirty if i dont and if i was to wash my hair every second day, its impossible to style it on the second day and my hair just becomes one huge flop and an oil build up begins, so it makes my life that much easier to just wash it daily.

The washing part of things i dont mind, i like shampooing my hair and giving my scalp a quick massage while im at it but the hair drying side of things is what really begins to annoy me ! But not to get too ahead myself, i must say, i have become quite a pro at a super quick 10 minute completely dry blowdry styled straight with a little body.  This way, when i wake up in the morning, all i have to do is run my fingers through my hair and im out the door because i wash my hair every night because if i had to do this in the morning, it would never happen because i usually sleep until the last minute that i can, i am far from a morning person !

A quick tip to a faster blowdry when styling your hair straight is to use a normal paddle brush instead of a round blowdrying brush. I learnt this on an episode of Jerseylicious, when Tracey was working on hair for fashion week.. And i must say, it seriously works because i used to spend about 20-25 minutes trying to blowdry my long thick hair straight and now the time is cut by half ! Another reason why i love reality trashy tv, they sometimes prove to be useful to my life :) I use the same lady jayne one which is pictured below.

So everyday after i wash my hair i apply three products to it after i have towel dired it quite well.. Thats another thing i probably do wrong, i smoosh my hair altogether and rub it vigorously when towel drying !

First i spritz my hair with Sunsilk Leave in Coniditoning Mist which cares and de-tangles and claims to make your hair 'fresher for longer'. I love this product because even if i have to choose one thing only to put in my hair this would be it. It detangles and smells fresh and coniditons and does everything an all rounder hair product should do, and has a very attractive price tag of about $6.

Secondly I apply a tiny little blob of Normal Balance Leave in Treatment from the Shwarzkopf Extra Care Hair Repair Range. I apply this though the middle to the ends of my hair and it really locks in moisture and helps style my ends to look neat when i blowdry my hair and i noticed that it really protects my hair from split ends and heat damage. I purchased this for $11.95.

And last i apply PPS Colourwear Colour Lock Survival Foam. This is a mousse type product which i apply from my roots to my ends and it locks in my colour and makes my hair colour really stand out and gives my hair the most gorgeous shine and makes my hair look extremely healthy and ive noticed that since i started using this, i have recieved compliments on how shiny and healthy my hair looks, so this is definately a product which i will keep repurchasing. These are originally $19.95 but i picked it up on sale for $5, so i bought two of them incase i loved it and lucky i did !

This is basically all i use. At the moment my hairdryer is a Tresemme  Professional for Phillips which my mum bought from Target for me like years ago for about $40 and the heat which is reaches is amazing and the most important thing is that it comes with an awesome nozzle which also helps for a quicker and smoother blowdry. It is 2000 Watts with an AC motorCeramic element which is very important to not damage your hair too much.

Bourjois Eyeshadow

Hey guys,

As i was shopping the other day, i tried to stay clear of the makeup section, trying to save some extra holiday cash but i couldnt help myself but to quickly have a look around for the perfect lilac/lavender/purple eyeshadow. Ive been looking for one for a while and none of them that i have purchased have been the perfect tone of purple until i found the Bourjois individual baked eyeshadow range, which i never knew actually existed because ive always thought that Bourjois is over priced. However when i saw this pretty colour i just had to get my hot little hands on it ! I got the shadow in number 72- ombre a paupieres.

When i got home i started to play around with it and i realised that the $28 price tag which was attached to it, did not necessarily mean super pigmentation or staying power. The first swipe of my finger across the shadow barely picked up anything and i had to really rub my finger in it to pick up some colour. So then i tried to use the shadow wet by slightly dampening a brush and then applying it onto my lid and that just caused it to crumble off and fall into my eye. I tried again with a primer first and then some shadow but even that didnt really work.

Ive come to the conclusion that im officially done with the Bourjois eyeshadow range, and im a little uoset that this pretty colour will be pushed to the back of the eyeshadow drawer because its really not a good shadow. Ive never tried the other eyeshadows by the same brand, maybe its just the baked ones that proved to be a dud ?!

Let me know your thoughts on these if you have tried them..

Maybelline Designer Chocolate Quad

Hey guys,
My daily makeup is usually quite neutral, just really standard and quite boring actually- it consists of the standard foundation, concealer if needed, pressed powder, bronzer, mascara and sometimes just some pencil liner. And on days where im off to uni, I tend to go for the option of tinted moisturiser with a ballerina bun on the top of my head and im out the door.
But cause im finished with uni now, im out and about every day so ive started to put a little more time into my makeup and have started to include some eyeshadow in my daily makeup routine if im not in too much of a rush (im one of those people who would rather sleep the extra 10 minutes instead of getting up 10 minutes earlier to make my life that little bit more simpler lol)
So lately ive been reaching for my Maybelline Quad in Designer Chocolate which I am seriously in love with !! It has the most gorgeous four colours that compliment every skin tone id say, and every time ive worn these ive been complimented on how pretty my eyes look.
I just realised that I don’t actually own any shadows by Maybelline as I always thought they weren’t pigmented but these are super pigmented and I even bought an extra one for my makeup kit and used the lightest colour from the palette as a highlight colour for makeup that I did at a wedding the other week on all three bridesmaids and it did not budge all night !

Ive probably worn these every day for the past two weeks, with or without a primer and even without a primer, they still stay put and the pigmentation is great. I have been applying it the same way every day, by using the cute little picture guide on the back of the palette as this palette has the words, ‘brow bone’, ‘lid’, ‘crease’ and ‘outer corner’ engraved into each separate shadow so you know exactly where to place each colour, which is great for beginners of makeup and with a $17 price tag attached to it, id say it’s a bargain for pretty good quality stuff ! Yay to Maybelline on these cute little quads. Ill be definitely going back to suss out the rest of the colour range, I wanna get my hands on a smokey eye one if it exists.

Have you guys tried these ? Let me know what you thought and what colour palette should I look out for ?
P.S I just realised ive rambled on about how pigmented these are but I didn’t take a photo of any swatches.. ill try get these up asap ! (my excuse is that its after midnight and I should be sleeping, so my brain must be falling asleep)

NP Set Pretty Presto Palette

Hey all,

You all need to get your hands on this palette from Napoleon Set in Pretty Presto. It is extremely cute and its the perfect thing you need for a short trip away or even for every day use.

The main reason i actually purchased this was because the blush that is in there is the mst beautiful bright coral which compliments my skin tone so well, which was part of Napoleons holiday set about two years ago and now i finished that blush and couldnt find a replacement until i saw this little palette.

The palette has two eyeshadows which suit every skin tone. It has a gorgeous deep gold shade and a bronze shadow and i love the quality of these and they are long lasting even without a primer. The palette comes with a little baby mascara stick which is seriously too cute and it comes with a baby lipgloss in a neutral colour which is also perfect for all skin tones.

This palette has a price tag of $28 and is worth the money, well i think so anyway ! This can be purchased from Target or any Napoleon store. They have a whole range of mini palettes like this and i wanna get my hands on every single one of them. What i dont like is that the palettes dont actually come with any little applicators or anything even though i dont personally use them myself, im sure there is people out there who do..

Let me know what you guys think of NP set products, cause i know alot of people still havnt really tried them.

Chi Chi Eyeshadow Review

Hey guys !

Today i will be reviweing the Chi Chi single eyeshadow range and i always see Chi Chi and browse their products but ive never actually bought anything from there until the other week.

I picked up three eyeshaddows in the colours, 'dont pimp my style' which is a vibrant deep purple which kind of reminds me of cadbury purple, 'carribean lover' which is a beautiful teal with golden undertones and 'show me the money' which is a beautiful vibrant green.

From left to right- dont pimp my style, show me the money, carribean lover (my personal fave)

They are soo pigmented, these swatches are just one swipe of each shadow and im really impressed with them. I wore carribean lover over the weekend and i must say im pretty impressed with the staying power because they lasted all night. The texture of these feel a little grainy, but it doesnt really effect the staying power of the shadow which is always a good thing.

Overall, i do like them, i wouldnt say love, but i do like them and will continue to use them. I guess i just prefer a silky feeling shadow. The only reason id probably repurchase would be because of the crazy colour range that they have available. I am a sucker for the cute packaging, everything in their range is so cute and sleek looking !

Have you tried these ? Did yours feel grainy too ? Let me know your thoughts..

Review: Toni and Guy Moisture Injection Shampoo and Conditioner

Hey all,

About six weeks ago i was at work when i noticed that we were selling Toni and Guy Moisture Injection Shampoo and Conditioner for $4.87 a bottle !!! Obviously i had to buy them and i have never ever used a better shampoo and conitioner in my life..

This shampoo was one of those extra lathering shampoos where you can feel your hair becoming cleaner as soon as you rub it in, as stupid as that sounds loll.. And the coniditoner is so soft feeling and makes your hair smell so nice and everytime i use it i just wanna keep running my fingers through my hair because it feels so soft and silky. Ive noticed that this new combo just makes my hair so manageable and i have less fly aways and my hair just feels so much prettier and healthier.

I must say i give this a 10/10 and i currently have it on my shopping list to repurchase ansd stock up on them because im having a strange feeling that they could possibly be discontinuing this holy grail in shampoo and conditioner !!

Let me know if youve tried this and if your from Sydney please let me know if youve spotted these little babies somewhere..

Top 5 Beauty Products !!

Hey everyone,

This is like the hardest post ive done, or even had to think about. Trying to pick just 5 out of the billion favourite products i have was a mission, so ive nailed it down to my 5 most favourite products that i use daily...

1. Model Co 3 in 1 Splash Foundation, in the colour Shore: I love this foundation, its one of those convenient products because once you put your foundation on that leaves your skin nice and dewy, once you pop open the lid, it has a little pot of concealer ! Too cute, im a sucker for packaging !

2. Australis Duo Blush and Contour in Rosy Bronze: This is great because one side is a blusher and one side is a contour colour so its another two in one, which convenient with really good pigmentation. Some times i cheat and use these as eyeshaddows too :)

3. Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Soft Nude: This is a perfect nude lipstick which i have 3 of and i carry one with me at all times. It matches all makeup at any time of the day. I lovee it !

4. Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara: This is hands down my favourite mascara ever and it looks like your wearing fake lashes when your not. I like it cause its a buildable mascara which can go from natural to dramatic without all the clumping.

5. NP Set Eyeshaddow palette in new neutrals: is the most perfect eye palette for an everyday neutral eye.

What are your 5 favourite products ? Let me know if your decision was as hard as mine..

Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer

Hey guys,

Finallly finally finallyyyy i got my hands on this little baby and i am seriously in love. The Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer lives up to its claim and is heavy duty and will hide just about anything. One little dab of this product is all it takes to hide blemishes or scars or anything that needs to be covered and once it is set with a powder, wherever it is placed, it will not budge !

I like to prime my face and then apply foundation before my concealer so as soon as i dab it on my problem areas its almost as if it has 10 times the coverage of any concealer ive ever bought before. Bad news is for those of us in Australia, i dont think theres anywhere that we can purchase it from here so head online and get your orders in ! This product is so easily blended, its waterproof and doesnt move from wher it should be once its been set- whats not to love.

I find its a bit heavy for everyday but perfect for a night out or if your desperate to hide up anything- possibly tatooss from parents haha

Let me know if youve tried this or tell me your favourite concealers that actually cover amazingly !

How to get rid of under eye circles

Hey guys,

So last night i saw my friend Emilia who is getting married in about eight weeks and she asked me how is she supposed to get ger skin wedding perfect and how to get of those under eye circles that shes had for the longest time... I told her that she should use cucumber slices and tea bags and on my way home, i thought i should probably research this incase what i had said was just made up in my own little head lol..

1. Cucumber slices :)
Cucumber slices have been around for almost forever and are used as a solution to puffy eyes and they refresh the appearance of the area around your eye and is the best instant pick me up remedy. All you have to do is place a thicker slice of cucmber over each eye and lie down and relac for 10-15 minutes and let the cucumber do its job. I would suggest that you should take advantage of this time and put on a face mask and light up an aroma therapy candle- ahhh heaven :)

2. Tea Bags
Tea bags which have been used and cooled can be placed on to your eyes daily. The tannin which is found in tea is released onto your eye and calms any swelling and discolouration and the caffine in the tea, is a natural pick me up for tired eyes. It is suggested that you do this in the morning and lie down with the cool tea bags on your eyes for about 15 minutes and let them do their work. The only tea bags which should be used are black tea, white tea, green tea and chamomile tea.

3.Frozen Spoons
Place a spoon in the freezer for about 10 minutes and hold them under your eye on your dark circles until the spoon goes warm. Something similar can be done with wet Q-tips that have been placed in the freezer for a few minutes and you can gently rub them along your dark circles. Both of these methods will reduce swelling, puffiness and help calm the dark circles under your eyes.

4. Sleep
The more sleep, the better. You should be aiming for atleast 8 hours of sleep a night. Those of us who are sleep deprived have less circulation and therefore causes our faces to become paler and under eye circles to become darker ( it makes us look a little like the Cullen family from Twilight lol). Alot of people dont sleep enough due to stress, so solve your stresses and get your sleep on !

5.Diet
Eating a healthy, well balanced diet with lots of water. Black circles can be traced to a lack of vitamin B12 and vitamin K. Plenty of veggies like cabbage and spinach and leafy greens contain lots of water which help provide necessary water in your body to get your circulation back on track and get rid of the dark circles under your eyes. Too much salt causes the blood vessels under your eyes to appear blue, so dont add salt when its not necessary !

6. Cosmetics
Under eye creams and concealers were invented for a reason !

Good Luck

Flowerbomb !

Hey guys,

Ive been on the search for my favourite winter perfume and ive narrowed it down to Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf.. Everytime i smell it, it just makes me feel so warm and wintery and i just wanna grab a huge mug of tea and curl up on the couch !

So i wasnt sure howd i would explain the scent to you guys, so i googled it and i found that it has notes of tea, bergamot, sambac jasmine, orange tree, catleya orchid, freesia, rose, and amber, musk, and patchouli. I also found out that patchouli is the scent in the perfume that makes it smell so earthy (kinda like the woods lol) and thats what comes through and smells like wintery warmness- which is the part that i love ! At the same time its so florally and smells very luxurious.
The bottle is soo cute, its shaped like a hand grenade in a way, cause its meant to be an explosion of flowers and very smart marketing if i dont say so myself :)

I actually got this perfume back in January for my birthday, and i used it a few times back then and i liked it but i didnt love it for summer. I wanted something lighter and fresh for summer that was citrus based, not something so earthy and florally like flowerbomb. Now that its getting colder, i just have to spray myself with flowerbomb everyday and i love the way it makes my scarfs smell nice too.. <3

All in all, you have to run to your closest myer or whatever department store is near you. Its a little bit pricey but i like to think of it as an investment and very worth it !
Let me know what you think about this perfume, i think its one of those that you either love or hate !
